The princess thwarted his plan, and as he laid there dying, he cursed all the citizens to death without rebirth. Another legend speaks of a Guru named Balu Nath. The Guru swore that if anyone was to build a palace whose shadow touched his property, he would destroy the entire city. One ruler mistakenly violated this promise, and the whole city was ruined.
