Madagascar - The Site To Attend For A Wild Escape
While low-key vacation are fun, sometimes a traveler simply needs something a little more wild. I don't mean the kind of wild that involves gratuitous amounts of alcohol and staying up until the sun rises. This is a more natural sort of wild that can only be found in untouched natural habitats. There are various places on our planet where you can encounter this, but Madagascar is exceptional.
If you love nature or have someone in your family woh does, consider a vacation to Madagascar. If you do plan on traveling there - or anywhere else outside the US - you will have to get a expedited passport renewal.
The passport acquisition process can be downright frustrating. If the passport application process is something you've ever had to do, you probably know how rough it is capable of being. It can be hard to take time out of your day to visit the post office or passport agency or whatever, then wait in the line (which can be long if it's traveling season), and then wait a very long time for your passport to actually get to you. However, you can do it online if you like. It certainly saves a lot of the hassle and makes things like passports renewal very easy.
Madagascar is a gold mine for those who are interested in natural life and biodiversity. Because it has been separated from the African mainland for around 135 million years, Madagascar has developed unique wildlife that can't be found anywhere else in the world, and these species are referred to as endemic species.
80% or so of all the living species on Madagascar are endemic. For this reason, scientists view Madagascar as a very special location. Of the 10,000 plant species on the island, 9,000 are endemic. Probably the most famous residents of Madagascar are the lemurs, of which there are 99 species. There are about 280 species of bird on Madagascar, and 100 of them are endemic. Additionally, there are around 260 species of reptile, and 90% of them are endemic. As you can see, Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot.
Tsingy de Bemaraha is an attraction in Madagascar that is a must-see. This nature preserve is actually a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spanning 330 square miles, it is considered one of the best nature preserves around. It is famous for it's beautiful yet kind of scary karst limestone formations. It's also well-known for its lemur populations, bird populations, and the preserved mangrove trees.
Madagascar is an island, so of course the water-based activities are going to be great. It's a gorgeous island, and the beaches rival any in the world. Surfing is very popular there, thanks to the constant winds and the shape of the island. Taking a kayak out on a tour is one of the best ways to explore the stunning coastal habitats. Deep fishing is also very popular here and huge fish are being caught all the time.
Madagascar is a great vacation destination for any lover of nature. With all the unique endemic species, gorgeous natural habitats both on land and under water, and interesting history and culture, it's a great place to travel. Don't forget to apply for your U.S. passport. Remember that you can get U.S. online passport renewal and replacement online also.
