The Wizard of OZ goes Hi Def on 70th anniversary

Toto, Dorothy, a coward lion, the witch of the north, the Scarecrow, the land of OZ, yes, it´s been 70 years since the first play of the Wizard of OZ, and, who could ever think that, too many years later this movie has become a relevant classic.

Based in the novel ¨The Wonderful Wizard of OZ¨ created by Frank Baum, Directed by Victor Fleming, and starring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger and Jack Haley, this attracts to kids and adults for the customs, the colorful and groovy sets, and special effects never seen before on a movie by 1939, when ¨The Wizard of OZ¨ hits the screen for the first time.

This movie also features a lot of songs that became classical over the years, who can forget ¨Somewhere Over the Rainbow¨ this one received the Academy Award. Is wonderful see that the new generations still are holding an interest on this movie, the great American fairy tale.

I guess most of us never had the chance to watch this movie on the big screen, now we will, in hi def, remastered digital audio, that's gonna be impressive because you may remember how many details are in the whole movie, i bet if you watch it again and again you will discover more and more details, just like the flying monkeys, sure, there is not place like home.

There is another legend surround ¨The Wizard of OZ¨, if you play Pink Floyd´s ¨Dark Side of the Moon¨ at the same time of the movie, there is match, people claims that Roger Waters and David Gilmore, get inspiration from the movie and they create some kind of alternative score music, you can find on you tube some guys experimenting with it, even public audiences showing ¨The Wizard of OZ¨ with Pink Floyd´s music. The musicians always denier it, besides what a lot of people claims.

¨The Wizard of OZ¨ is inspiration for local and national festivals, customs parades, theatrical plays and musicals, cartoons, comics, magazines, and of course, the novel. All of this had been here joining us since kids, giving us entertainment and fun and good memories.
