Having the HP LaserJet 3150 printer in the workplace is like having four different machines that do diverse tasks. Obviously, its primary purpose is to print on paper. However, within the same compact unit, you may also do reproducing, scanning and faxing, all performed by the HP LaserJet 3150 toner, although such tasks are rendered in black and white.

As a printer, it can help out with meeting production needs. It has a 6-page per minute speed. And each print it can make can be as high as 600 dots per inch resolution. From startup, it can start performing in about 18 seconds. Media compatibility is something this laser jet is never short of. Aside from printing on standard paper, with sizes including letter, legal and executive, it can also work on other media. They include envelopes, index cards, transparencies and label sheets.

As a copying machine, a maximum of 6 copies can be done for every minute, depending on the resolution. But it can accommodate resolutions of up to 600 dots per inch. The ability for reducing or enlarging copies is present, ranging from anywhere between 50 per cent and 200 per cent. A maximum of 99 pages per job can be met through multiple copying, which also has an automatic collation feature.

As a scanner, this machine is never without allowing you flexibility. Scanning resolutions include 300 dots per inch (optical) with 256 grayscale levels. However, it may also be enhanced to scan with resolutions of up to 600 dots per inch. Scanning speed, excluding transfer of data from the computer's CPU, is 6 pages per minute. Scannable areas include 2" x 3.5" (minimum) and 8.5" x 39" (maximum).

As a fax machine, this may work with or without a computer. It will take the machine approximately 6 seconds in transmitting a page. Up to 30 pages can be processed by its document feeder, which is fully automatic. The usual A4, letter and legal are the fax paper sizes. Resolution of pages may also be set or changed. They include 203 dpi x 98 dpi (standard), 203 dpi x 196 dpi (fine) and 300 dpi x 300 dpi (superfine). A halftone-enabled 300 dpi x 300 dpi (photo) resolution is also possible.

Fax compatibility includes ITU Group 3. A variety of compression formats are used for fax coding, including MMR, MH, MR and JBIG. 2400 bits per second to 14400 bits per second is the speed of the modem. This printer is also loaded with other features common among facsimile machines. Up to 175 speed dials and 25 distribution lists are included.

Worry not about where to place this HP laser jet, as everything is packed in a compact unit. It has a dimension of 272 mm (10.8") H x 384 mm (15.1") W x 390 mm (15.4") D. With the ink cartridge installed, the 3150 weighs 10.6 kg (23.4 lbs). In the control panel in front, there is an LCD where the printer's messages and functions are displayed. Plus the 35 buttons present allow for ease of operation.

You can do your printing and scanning jobs all at the same time with this machine. But what if you are currently printing something and a fax comes in? There is an onboard 2 MB memory, which can store a maximum of 150 pages of fax. The fax that comes in will be stored, to be processed after the ongoing task is done.

The HP LaserJet 3150 printer lets you have four different machines in a single unit. You need not purchase a separate copier, scanner and fax machine. Every one of those is right here in this versatile, yet compact laser jet printer.

These four different machines all use the same HP LaserJet 3150 toner to produce the prints you demand. Professionally crisp and clear, HP toner works to meet the standards Hewlett-Packard sets. Ordering replacement toner online saves your business money over the years.
