Language schools range form large corporations to small tuition centers run by individual language teachers. Each language school claims to have its own unique and most effective method.

Most language schools will tell you that they have native speakers. This is not a great distinction. Many big name language schools pay their native speakers between $10 to $12 dollars an hour for part time work . This shows how much respect they have for foreign language teaching. Also being taught by by a native speaker is not a guarantee for your success. Failure to deliver is still widespread among language schools and most of the foreign language classes are taught by native speakers.

I speak five languages fluently and I think method used to learn a foreign language is much more decisive than anything else. Your success in learning a foreign language is dependent on your own efforts and the right method will guide you through the process. Language learning is a slow and gradual process. Anyone who tells you that you will speak like a native in a few weeks is lying to you and does not deserve your business.

Language industry does not have any standards. There are no consumer guides available to help you make an intelligent choice. You will hear great things about language schools but these great things come from the marketing departments of the language schools. Big name schools dominate the internet, so their messages are well spread .Their slogans are created by their marketing departments and are geared towards making a sale rather than guiding a language student properly. Most people like things to happen fast and thats what you would hear from people selling the latest and greatest language learning system.

When choosing a language school do not just look for native speakers. Ask the school how their method is going to make you a fluent speaker.
