Goshen’s Hot Mexican Dip

This spicy Mexican dip is a wonderful appetizer to a Mexican themed meal or something for the big game. Goshen’s hot Mexican dip uses a spicy Jimmy Dean sausage, or any spicy sausage is good. This dip is a wonderful with Frito chips or tortilla chips. Goshen’s hot Mexican dip is best served hot and fresh. The recipe can be easily doubled for larger groups. Goshen’s hot Mexican dip is also wonderful if you add diced unions.

Serves 2-4

Ingredients:

· 1 pound (about 454 grams) of spicy Jimmy Dean sausage crumbled, or any spicy sausage crumbled

· 8 ounces(about 227 grams) of cream cheese

· 10 ounces(about 283 grams) of Mexican Festival Rotel with cilantro and lime juice (Diced tomatoes with green chilies)

· Cumin

· Chili powder

· Frito chips or Tortilla chips to serve with

Directions:

Step 1: The first step in Goshen’s hot Mexican dip is to get the sausage in a frying pan or skillet and cook until browned, if you want less grease drain after browning.  Then add the cream cheese to the skillet or frying pan. The cream cheese should melt easily. Then stir in the Rotel or diced tomatoes with green chilies, cilantro and lime juice until thoroughly mixed.

Step 2: The next step is to season to taste with the cumin and chili powder depending on how hot you want it to be. Tip for Goshen’s hot Mexican dip is if you wanted to add the diced unions add it right after you brown the sausage in the frying pan or skillet. Then you are ready to serve with Frito chips or tortilla chips.
