Goshen’s Mighty Mississippi Tea

Goshen’s mighty Mississippi tea is a refreshing southern treat that will quench you thirst on even the hottest of days. This ice tea is a southern treat that comes from the Mississippi delta. Goshen’s mighty Mississippi tea is a uniquely tasty tea that is extremely refreshing. It also has fruit juices and some pieces of fruit. Goshen’s mighty Mississippi tea also tastes wonderful with sprigs of fresh mint in the mixture for an even more refreshing taste.

Makes 8 cups

Ingredients:

· 4 cups (about liter) of hot brewed mint tea

· 1/3 cups(about 79 grams) of sugar

· ½ teaspoon (about 2 milliliters)of allspice also called Jamaica pepper, Kurundu, Myrtle pepper, pimen

· ¾ teaspoons ( about 4 milliliters) of whole cloves

· 3 cinnamon sticks, broken

· 3 cups(about 750 milliliters) of oranges juice (fresh squeezed is the best)

· 1 cup (about 250 milliliters) of unsweetened pineapple juice

· About 8 or more Orange slices

· Sprigs of fresh mint

Directions:

Step 1: The first step in Goshen’s mighty Mississippi tea is to combine the cinnamon, cloves, and allspice in a tea ball or cheesecloth bag and set aside. Then combine the hot tea and sugar in a large Dutch oven or pot. Then stir in the fruit juices and add the spice bag.

Step 2: Bring the ingredients in the Dutch oven or pot to a boil. After it reaches a boil cover the Dutch oven or pot and reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Then remove the pot or Dutch oven from the heat and discard spice bag.

Step 3: Then place in the orange slices and mint sprigs with ice and mix thoroughly. Then put tea in a serving container and serve over ice. Then you are ready to enjoy Goshen’s mighty Mississippi tea. Tip: if you are willing to wait stir in the orange slices and mint sprigs and let sit in with ice to add more flavor.
