Back pain is big problem among Americans, especially men. And if not taken care of properly, can be very debilitating and lead to surgery.  But, there are things than most people can do to eliminate back pain and better yet, prevent it.

Now, there are some people who like to use a Carlsbad Personal Trainer to help build up muscle strength.  And that does work.  You see, back pain is usually caused by weak abdominal muscles, which place more work load on the lower back.  Plus, people who are over-weight are prone to back pain as opposed to slimmer people

So, hiring a personal fitness trainer is a great idea to help you strengthen your muscles to reduce back pain.  You need to first reduce overall body fat to a healthy point.  For men, that should be anywhere from 12% to 16%, and for women, that would be from 17% to 22%.

Next, you need to work your abdominal muscles, making them stronger, so your back won't have to carry so much weight around.  A great personal trainer will have you do stomach exercises such as, leg raises, ab crunches, frog kicks, rotary twists, just to name a few.

You should also work your lower back, making your lower back muscles stronger as well.  Some great exercises for lower back are hyper-extensions, good-mornings, and dead lifts.  Just make sure you to ask your gym personal trainer to help you with the correct form.  You don't want to get hurt.

You should also get regular chiropractic adjustments to keep your spine in line.  Everyone should do this.  No matter what, your back will get out of alignment.  And if not taken care of, you can cause severe damage to your discs and your back.

This is most people's problem.  They think if they don't feel any pain, that they are OK.  But, when it comes to the back, you can feel fine and after years of neglect, bamm.  You are done.  So, make sure you check your back alignment often.  You will be glad you did.

Lastly, be careful when you lift things.  Don't use bad form and don't lift things above your head or waist without some type of support.  Many back problems first arise when someone is lifting something incorrectly.  Don't do it.

To get more great information about health and fitness you can speak with a Carlsbad Personal Trainer.  And if you really want to get in shape, be ready to work hard for your Personal Fitness Trainer.
