Determining Your Skin Tone
All of us are born with a specific intensity and undertone. Because it's genetic, it never changes.
The
two tones are either BLUE (known as cool) or YELLOW (referred to as
warm). Each tone has its own intensity -- clear or muted. There are
four intensities women can be categorized under: Blue undertones with a
clear intensity is WINTER Blue undertones with a muted intensity is
SUMMER Yellow undertones with a clear intensity is SPRING Yellow
undertones with a muted intensity is SUMMER.
Surprisingly, our
bodies radiate energy. Some of us refer to it as an aura. Our military
uses special ultraviolet equipment to detect the field of energy, which
surrounds the enemy during the dark of night. Dyed fabric emits an
energy itself and when it interacts or is exposed to the right
undertone in our skin, the effect is nothing less than astounding and
can be detected with the human eye. You can see how the right color
will make your complexion appear smoother and your face evenly
distributed. The tone under the skin will appear pinkish, giving off a
soft radiant glow. When the wrong dyed fabric is exposed near the skin,
the flesh will appear blotchy and sometimes sallow and puffy.
Because
facial shapes for nearly 98% of us are not perfectly symmetrical, an
optical illusion of an uneven shape or, an exaggeration of features
i.e. high forehead, wide nose, full lips, double chin, long nose --
will seem even more prominent when we wear a color that does not
compliment our skin naturally. There is no better reason for knowing
what colors will enhance your own individual look.
