If you are looking to lose weight and the aerobics are not getting it done, maybe you need to incorporate a weight program into you workout routine. A good way to start is to set some goals. You must be realistic at the beginning or you are going to disappoint yourself and give up to easily. Write your plans down and set up a schedule. It is best to start out light and work your way up gradually so you do not hurt yourself.

You are not going to see massive results overnight but if you stick with it you will see positive results and that will make you feel great about yourself and be easier to keep going. Talk to people who know about lifting or read up more on the subject because you want to make sure you are doing it properly and doing exercises that will help you the most.

If your technique is not good you can hurt yourself and slow down your process of getting in the shape you want. Start out with light weights and less repetitions and then work your way up to heavy weights. Once you can do a sety of reps without to much soreness then it is time to increase. You do not want to stay with the same amount of weight for to long or you will stagnate your process.

Also work the whole body. Do not put to much time into just working out the arms or the legs as you will burn more calories and get a more trim body if you work the whole body. And finally it is important to rest. Any body part only needs to be worked out once or twice a week. It is important to rest a day after lifting because if you spend one day breaking the muscles down you must rest the next day and let them build back up.

Proper diet is also important because it does no good to work out like crazy and the stuff yourself with junk food and give yourself that much more fat to burn off. So a good weight program to go with some aerobic work will take the weight off and keep it off and give you that body you are looking for.
