Exercise shouldn't be a gimmick.
Neither should dieting. We are not going to discuss pills, or books and
anything that you have to buy. Losing weight is a hard thing to do. Who
wants to give up bread and eat like a bird?
The fact of the matter is,
the first thing you have to do to lose weight is eat less food. In
order to do that, you will need to choose foods that have fewer
calories unless you are content with eating only a few forkfuls of your
regular meals. Since you don't want to starve, you will probably choose
meals with fewer calories.
The more days you can suffer by eating less
food and the more days you can resist temptations will determine the
time it takes to lose your desired weight. Experts will tell you not to
starve yourself too much, but that rule is hardly applicable since not
many people can stand the discomfort of starving!
This being said, now we can appreciate how hard it is to lose
weight by dieting alone. This is what makes it hard to lose weight. Too
much willpower is required. Why, we need to do this just to keep
ourselves from gaining any more weight.
Forget about losing! Dieting
with out exercise is doomed for failure. Anyone reading this article no
doubt already knows how hard it can be to lose weight. If you want to
lose weight and you don't want to exercise, but you know you should,
this article was written just for you. You already know that exercising
is the key to losing weight. The truth is, you can't commit yourself.
Let's talk about the reason why exercising is out of the question
for you and work on that. No time? No energy? No courage? No
motivation? No money? There are dozens of excuses not to exercise but
there is an answer to every excuse. The hardest reason would be
motivation. Exercise is boring! Most people associate exercise and
fitness with a gym membership.
Gyms aren't for everyone though. There
are lots of other to exercises to lose weight - and some are even fun!
The secret to exercise is finding that special activity that is easy
for you to stick to. Some people like a group activity, like bowling,
soccer, or basketball. You need to choose something that you can
dedicate yourself to. If it is something you actually like, it remains
easier!
Independent exercises are popular because you don't need to rely
on others to make sure your workouts are completed. Independent
exercises can be done at a time that is convenient to you. Running
happens to be a very good choice when it comes to exercise. It's the
hardest thing to consider though because if you don't run already, it
can be tough starting out. You run two yards and you are done.
Huffing
and puffing. It's too hard. You are too out of shape. Running is not as
hard as you think! When you first start, it's more of a walk-run
combination at your own pace. It doesn't take long at all to work
yourself up to a real run without walking involved. Once you get past
the mindset that running is too hard, you will have discovered the most
effective method of exercising.
Running is perfect for travelers or people that want to exercise
by themselves at their own pace. Running is the best exercise that you
can finish with quickly. Almost every sport requires the purchase of
some type of gear. Classes and memberships always cost money. Running
burns the most calories and it costs absolutely nothing.
Chances are,
you already own the shoes. If, for some reason you are unable to run,
you can always walk at a brisk pace and if you can't do that, you can
walk at a normal pace. Walking requires more coverage but is still
better than nothing.
Another good form of exercise that is independent and almost free
is bicycling. Bicycling burns a lot of calories and is considered an
enjoyable activity. It's not as effective as running but still high on
the list and a lot more comfortable.
A bicycle doesn't have to cost a
lot and they can be purchased second-hand if you don't want to settle
for a department-store style bike. Unlike running, a bicycle also
serves as a means of transportation, so you can save on gas as well
when you use you bike to run errands with, such as simple trips to the
post office.
You can make cycling more fun by adding items to your
handlebars like cyclometers, lights and horns. The cyclometer will tell
you how far you've ridden which is important. You can keep track of
your progress and know when it's time to turn back and head for home
before you overdo it.
Basically, the trick is to look for
an exercise to lose fat or activity that makes sense to you. The more you
appreciate and enjoy it, the more you will stick with it. If you have a
fear of making your fat loss endeavors public, try purchasing exercise
videos or fitness games to do at home. There are dozens of different
subjects. If you don't have any willpower, try enrolling in a class
somewhere. Sometimes, you stay involved just for the grade! Whatever
you do, choose a type of fat loss that you are willing
to stick with.
