"How do I rank high enough in Google for a keyword that a prospect would use to search for a solution to his problem and entice that prospect to click on my Google search result to visit my site and place and order, make an enquiry or click on my adverts?"
Do you agree that is a far better question?
OK lets get to the point now in answering this question and why it was important to get this question right.
First a little on what people do wrong

- They think ranking first in google for their company name answers this question
You see its all about them. To create more real money your need to start with your customer and what they want.
They want a solution to their problem which means they are searching with keyword they think will help them find their solution.
When your rank for those keywords then that questions is answered and you will make more money by converting more visitors that want your solution now, right now and found you on google for the keywords they thought would find a solution.

Lets make up a prospect for car insurance (as this is about as competitive a market as you can get)
Our prospect is Female ages 32 who lives in the states. She needs Car Insurance. What do you think she would search for in google to find some insurance?
"car insurance for women"
Why would she type the? Well we all know that there are specialist car insurance companies that deal with only woman and give them special low rates or other benefits. If our prospect didn't know this, she soon would doing her research in google looking and just car insurance site.
Lets look at a competitive area.

Lets just look at this small list of keywords. Our prospect my use all of these search terms but before long I best she will use "car insurance for women".
Just look how there is hardly any competition to rank in google for this term. There is only 1,900 but you could rank for this easy. You also know that you have the right product for this prospect so this will really increase your traffic if you can rank.
If you dream of ranking for any of the 3 other terms good luck! They do have good commercial intent i.e. the searchers are looking to spend money to solve their problem, however there is a lot of competition for them to search through to find the exact match between there problem "car insurance for women".
So lets look at what you have learned.
This example shows that ranking for a keyword that is being searched for by your prospect is the key.
