You know the biggest selling point is to sell DREAMS. Everyone has a dream and I am 200% sure that you have a big dream too that you want to achieve. Most of us have dreams of owning a big house, luxury cars, and a loving family because sub-consciously everyone wants to build their own paradise on earth. Wake up people. Life is not a bed of roses. It's a bed of pinching thorns that hurts. So you need to face the truth.
The truth is if you want to start an online business, or drive traffic to your site, you have to SPEND MONEY or work your ass off to drive free traffic to your site. The key is to drive targeted traffic to your site. Now the questions are where your targeted traffic is, how you can convince them to visit your site and what should you do to convert them into buyers. It is a process. You can map this process by creating a marketing plan.
Make sure you create an effective marketing plan and stick to it. For example, if you want to advertise with Google Adwords, you need to research which keywords are used by your target market and how can you convince them to click on the text ad.
Here is no bullshit, real face of internet marketing. This is what most of the internet marketers learned over the period of time and that's how they earn millions of dollars online:
Social bookmarking is not a selling platform - Social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumble upon, twitter (micro blogging), Mixx, squidoo, hub pages, Facebook, MySpace, etc. are frequented by people looking for free information and news. They are not in a buying mode. Even the best of the best sales letter or any convincing entity can never convince them to buy UNLESS you create a solid buzz around your product and spend at least 3 to 4 months creating the buzz. For example, you can start creating a buzz around your product like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs bought your product and they don't want you to tell people about it.
‘Get Free traffic' means working your ass off - That's true. First let's see what free marketing is. Free marketing means driving traffic through articles, content sharing sites, forum marketing, hot linking, building backlinks to get a better position in search engines, creating videos and putting them video sharing sites, creating podcasts and uploading them on podcast directories, etc, etc.
You need to work like 5 to 6 hours daily to drive traffic to your site through free resources. You will probably want to outsource these time consuming tasks and spend like thousands of dollars on it. So, it's not free. Even the time you spent on doing all this stuff means a lot of money. Tell this to all those Goddamn gurus who sell free marketing stuff online
The Real Truth
The real truth is you need specific skills to sell stuff online. Skills like copywriting, buzz marketing, viral marketing tactics, and a different strategy to use the online traffic resources like video sharing sites. You also need patience and persistence - without it, you won't be able to survive online.
