Things are getting actually desperate for the intellectual left. The Kansas City Star ran an editorial by Lewis Diuguid that absolutely borders on insanity. He's claiming the word "socialist" is really a secret code word for black.
So anyone using this word, in this author's eyes is guilty of racism. But the intellectual left has really outdone themselves with this charge. It's extremely troubling that regardless of what words we use to describe Obama's policies, it always seems we come back to being called racists.
We talk about William Ayers, and we are racists. We talk about Tony Rezko and we're racists. God forbid we talk about Jeremiah Wright because if his name is even mentioned, we are racists. We bring up questions concerning Obama's lack of will to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and if we mention Franklin Raines of course we're racists.
I've seen racists, I've known members of the klan and I can say without any equivocation the majority of people in the United States aren't overly racist. Does racism exist? Absolutely but not near to the extent that some like to portray it does. I'm never going to say that it doesn't exist, but neither am I going to sit still or be quiet and just accept the fact that any criticism of an African-American candidate is racism.
If socialist is a code word for black I guess I just have to get dressed up tonight in my socialist shoes, socialist pants, and my socialist shirt. Dye my hair socialist, dig out my old Santana CD and put on socialist magic woman, and sit back and enjoy some Johnnie Walker socialist label and accept the fact that I'm a racist.
