Investment Commission welcomes amendments to Investment Law

Iraq’s High Investment Commission welcomed amendments to be introduced by Parliament to the investment law which allow foreign firms to own lands in Iraq. Head of the Commission Sami Al Aaraji clarified that the amendments help allure foreign investments in the housing sector which requires around 200 billion dollar. Despite security improvement in most of Iraq provinces, foreign investors’ turnout is still low. Experts attribute this fact to the absence of legislative motivations that guarantee invested capitals in the country.
