Assad calls Italy and EU to exert more efforts regarding peace process

Syrian President Bashar Al Assad called on Thursday Italy and the European Union to intensify efforts in order to put an end to the Israeli occupation the Palestinian and Arab territory and to remove the settlements which constitute the essential impedance on the road towards peace. In a joint press conference with the Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Napolitano Assad said that Syria is serious in its willingness to reach a peace deal thru indirect negotiations. However, peace seems to be hard because Israel is not acting as a partner. The current Israeli government cannot be considered a partner as long as it faces peace calls with more settlement building and judaizing and by violating the sacred places, Assad said.
