TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced Tehran's preparedness
to play a mediating role between the Palestinian groups, Fatah and Hamas, to
settle their differences and help them free their territories from the hands
of the Zionist regime.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to mediate between Hamas and Fatah to
help them materialize their aspirations and liberate their homeland from the
Israeli occupation," a foreign ministry official said on Sunday.
He also dismissed allegations that Iran interferes in Palestine's political
spectrum, and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran calls for solidarity of
the Palestinian groups to end Israeli occupation.
He made the remarks in response to allegations made by Mahmoud Abbas, the
chief of Fatah -- Palestinian National Liberation Movement against Iran.
Earlier, Mahmoud Abbas had claimed that Iran creates rift between Fatah and
Hamas -- Palestine Islamic Resistance Movement.
