Beirut - LBC anchor May Chidiac suddenly decided to quit and retired at the end of the program of Bekul Gur'aa Tuesday evening , stressing that this was her own decision , in reference to those who were trying to obstruct her role at the network.

She added that she was under pressure to appease several people stressing that she will never sacrifice her dignity. She spoke about some of the officials canceled their interviews at the last minute.

Chidiac, who has miraculously survived an assassination attempt and who underwent her 30th surgery operation last week, expressed hope ( from all her heart ) that the criminals responsible for all assassinations are punished. Syria was accused of being behind her assassination, because she was one of the few critics of Syria's hegemony over Lebanon.

On the day she was nearly killed, Chidiac had hosted a talk show in which she criticized Syria's continuous meddling in Lebanon's affairs and voiced fears over further violence ahead of the UN report on the murder of the former prime minister Rafik Hariri ,

Chidiac said some people who have been successful at the network had to appease several people , but as far as she is concerned she will never betray her principles.

Chidiac thanked the managing Director Sheikh Pierre Daher and hoped that a reconciliation will take place soon between him and the head of the Executive Authority in the Lebanese Forces Dr. Samir Geagea.
