Real estate investing is a very profitable business and many people have earned their fair share. That is not the case.  Consider 5 great myths that surround the real estate investing and you'll see how accomplishable it is:

I need money to make money - Find a good real estate investment and the money will find you. Lack of funds is never an issue; in fact if you ask any seasoned investor, he/she will tell you that good deals are an issue. If you can negotiate a good price on a house, you will find plenty of partners willing to put up the money for you.

I have a family and very little time - All the big investors have family and they spend time with their family. The biggest time killer is that Television. Throw it out. People spend an average of three hours a day in front of that box. They spend even more time on weekends. Real estate investing is all about taking the time out to actually look for good deals and strike at the right time. You can do a lot of fun things while working. You can take your kids driving around looking for ugly houses. Make a game out of it giving a dollar to each of your kid that spots an ugly house. This way, you'll be able to do the work and find the best deal in the town.

Many people are buying houses to find a deal - There are more than enough deals to make everyone rich. At any given time there are hundreds of properties for sale in your market for each investor looking for them. In addition, a majority of people who say they are investors are just sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone to fall in their lap. Don't be one of them - go out and make deals happen.

real estate investing doesn't work in my market - It works in every market. However, it may work differently in some markets than in others, but there are investors making money in every city, every town, every day of the week. All you have to do is learn about the market and you'll be surprised how many people are actually doing real estate investing in your area.

Real estate investing is a risky business - Reality is that real estate is one of the safest investments you can buy. Savings, money market funds and other wont give you enough return on your money. You have to be willing to take a calculated risk to make good money. Educate yourself before you dabble with it. It will become less risky.
