It stands at 10.9 inches and has a diameter of 14.1 x 17.8 inches. It only weighs around 20 pounds, which makes it among one of the lightest laser printers under the same category. The Samsung ML 2252W toner offers superior printing on every level.

This laser printer is able to print 22 monochrome pages under a minute, which makes it slightly faster than most. The quality of the prints was also crisp and sharp. The ML 2252 has a max resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. As with most laser printers, it is designed for printing monochrome documents. This means it is unable to depict color that much, which makes it a sub par photo printer. As for simple text and graphics, the quality was excellent.

The 160 MHz processor and built-in 16 MB RAM is more than enough to handle heavy loads of printing. In you think the printer needs to be upgraded, you can add up to 144 MB of RAM. It uses a standard SDRAM with a DIMM 100-pin slot. It is pretty easy to find this kind of RAM since it is widely used by other laser printers.

The combined capacity of the two paper trays is 550 sheets. It has a whopping monthly duty cycle of 30,000 pages. This makes it a desirable device to be added to a medium-sized business or office.

As for connectivity, the Samsung ML 2252 leaves nothing to chance. It has both wired and wireless networking capability. For wireless, it uses the 802.11b protocol. Connecting this device to a network is easy as pie. If you prefer to connect it to a single PC or laptop, you can use either the USB or parallel port. This is device offers four types of connection, which makes it an excellent machine.

The ML 2252 is also power efficient device, consuming only 350W when it is printing. If it is on idle or sleep mode, it uses up a measly 15W. These results make it one of the most powerfully efficient laser printer in its class. Other laser printers take as much as 500W when printing and 50W if left on idle.

The utility and software can support Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, and Vista. It is even compatible with the Linux environment. The machine does not make a lot of noise when it is printing something. If it were on idle, you would barely notice any noise.

Bear in mind that the Samsung ML 2255W printer does not have any scanning or faxing capability. If you need any of these features, you might want to consider buying a multifunctional device instead. If you purchase these devices one by one, it will be using a lot more space and you will end up paying a lot more. If you do not need any of these features, this printer is an excellent choice.

It has the printing power to cater to the demands of any medium-sized office. This model is a simple low cost solution, especially if the office already owns a scanner or a fax machine, but wants an affordable stand alone laser printer. Just remember, it is optimized for simple text and graphics. This is not intended for photo printing.

TRCB.com
