Abbas doubts peace talks to be resumed soon

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas raised doubts regarding the possibility of resuming indirect peace talks with Israel soon. Abbas asked once again to stop all the colonial projects. During a press conference with his Brazilian counterpart who visited Ramallah, Abbas said that Israel should follow a clear road map in order to resume peace talks as soon as possible. In addition, the European Union interfered to solve the issue as Abbas sent a letter on Wednesday to EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton in which he called the EU to exert pressure on Israel in order to halt settlement building especially in Jerusalem. Ashton had called Israel to stop settlement building plans during a visit to Jordan and invited both parties to make mutual compromises for the sake of peace.
