Alan Jackson, one of country music’sbiggest stars, was honored with the Alan Jackson Star Ceremony earlierthis year. Since releasing his first album in 1990, Jackson has put outthirteen full length albums, with his most recent, Freight Train,hitting stores on March 30th. This most recent honor is sure to securehis place in history as a country music icon.

Although it is a great honor to get a star on Hollywood Boulevard,this is not the first major award Alan Jackson has won. Over the years,he has taken home fourteen Academy Of Country Music Awards as well astwelve Country Music Association Awards. In 2002, he won the BestCountry Song Grammy for his 9/11 tribute, “Where Were You (When TheWorld Stopped Turning).”

He played a 21-song set to radio contestwinners who flew in from all over the country for the occasion. Jacksonrarely plays in such small venues and fans were thrilled to see himperform with his eight-piece band.
