This means there are a lot of decisions you are going to have to make. Will you choose to travel with your family or with friends? Where will you go and exactly how will you get there? It's always easy to do what you have always done and so many of us limit our travel to places inside the borders of the United States but there are exciting destinations available just outside our borders. Traveling to locations like Mexico or the Caribbean only require a passport card. And with the availability of a passport card online online, it is easier than ever to get the document you need for travel.

While a passport card is all that is necessary for land and water travel to bordering countries, a passport is needed if you decide to fly as your method of transportation. An express US passport service can be easily located online making the process simple and secure. Rather than having to hop into your car and find the nearest United States Passport Office, your passport can be obtained at the convenience of your own home computer.

How frustrating is it to return home from your vacation only to find that there was an interesting place only miles from where you were but you missed it because you didn't know about it. The United Nations through the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has provided a list of World Heritage Sites that will assist you in locating those areas near your destination deemed to have natural and cultural significance.

There are twenty-nine World Heritage Sites that can be visited in Mexico and that is more sites than anywhere else in the Americas. El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve and the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve are two of these sites that alone can make your trip to Mexico worth while. Not only do these places hold numerous species of life, many of their protected residents can be found no where else on earth.

If you choose to journey a little farther into Central America, an array of World Heritage Sites awaits you. The Cocos Island is one such site and can be found off the coast of Costa Rica. Known for its diving opportunities, the depth of the water around this island encourages habitation by vast numbers of large sea life including shark, giant stingrays and dolphin. While there are a lot of Caribbean islands, this one provides opportunities to forge through volcanic tunnels, caves and beautiful green spaces. Beautiful coral reefs and an abundance of sea life complete the attraction of this beautiful island.

Joya de Ceren is a site in El Salvador that has been called the "Pompeii of the Americas." In the year 590 AD, Loma Caldera, an active volcano, erupted and effectively froze the village in time. Meals were left still half eaten on tables and the crops still held their original shape. Visiting this site gives a glimpse back to a time way before ours, and this can definitely put our history as humans into perspective.

TRCB.com
