Data Processing generally means working upon raw facts and converting them into useful information.

Computer As Energy Flow System

The computer has its own language and understanding for the instructions. It works as it is directed by the user with its own language .Computer reads Binary digit codes which are either 0 or 1 i.e. either false or true. Bit is the smallest non-addressable unit of storage which a computer recognizes. Bit is an abbreviation of Binary digit.

Since the data is entered by Input devices; these devices convert the information into a series of electric signals. Each signal is merely a presence or absence of voltage or current. The data is worked upon in the processing zone. Incase of Information transfer, the computer is attached to devices like modem. The Modem stands for Modulator and Demodulator. It converts computer output for transmitting along communication lines such as telephone lines. The signals passed by computer are analog in nature while the telephone lines are digital. The Modem attached to a sender computer converts these signals to digital ones .when these signals reaches the Receiver computer, the modem present with the receiver computer, reconverts these signals to analog one. The modem acts as a modulator and demodulator depending upon the circumstances. In this way, the Information from one computer to another computer is transferred.

Computer transmission can also be considered as a good example of energy flow system. The output of any computer program is displayed on the CRT Monitor as well as in printed form. The energy generated in a computer, appears when the CRT Monitor gets light. Inside CRT Monitor., a bulky cathode ray tube is present.

This cathode ray tube is responsible for the lightening in devices like Television; Computer Monitors etc .It is a glass envelope roughly conical in shape with a long neck in which cathode discharges electrons.

Visual displays caused by the Cathode ray tube on the monitor screen consist of the following procedure.

A metal electrode, in the neck is the anode and is positively charged .It speed up the electrons to the desired velocity or energy level. The cathode and focusing electrodes and anodes constitute the electron gun, balancing the flow of electrons. These streams of electrons are concentrated into an electronic beam with a very small cross-section and are deflected to a prescribed angle by an electric field; composed by electromagnetic coils, present on the neck. The electron beam struck a wall area of a transparent glass surface coated with a phosphorescent layer from inside, present at the wide mouth of the tube. This in turn reflects light .The emission of light as an outcome of electron strike with variable intensity results in a series of discrete spots and eventually produces a number of lines to form picture on the screen.

The Information and Energy flow system have revolutionized the human lives and are used constantly in almost every walk of life whether it is domestic or business use. Within seconds of time, the complex mechanism behind the execution is performed and we aid ourselves with these wonderful and amazing Information and energy flow system.

TRCB.com
