It is
understandable in a country with a culture that abhors thinking beyond the
next news bulletin that many people find it superfluous for Netanyahu's top
decision making team be heavily weighed with people who spend most of their
time thinking.

In contrast to the attack in Yediot Ahronot, the leading correspondents in
the Haaretz newspaper, that can certainly not be suspected of supporting
the policies of the Netanyahu Government, have described the arrangement as
one that has provided Binyamin Netanyahu with a tremendous decision-making
team that can think through policy options instead of engaging in the
traditional Israeli shoot from the hip approach. (The amount of time PM
Sharon put into thinking about retreating from Gaza before he made the
decision, for example, was about as long as it took to read this sentence.
No serious work was done regarding possible outcomes and the various groups
and agencies that might contribute their ideas on the matter were not even
consulted before the decision was made.) .

Telephone poll of a representative sample of 500 adult Israelis (including
Arab Israelis) carried out by Dahaf for Yediot Achronot the week of 19 March
and published on 19 March 2010
.

If elections held today (expressed in Knesset seats)
Current Knesset seats in [brackets].
32 [28] Kadima
29 [27] Likud
13 [15] Yisrael Beiteinu
10 [11] Shas
08 [13] Labor
06 [03] Meretz
06 [05] Yahadut Hatorah
11 [11] Arab parties
03 [04] Nat'l Union
02 [03] Jewish Home]

Do you think that publication of the construction in eastern Jerusalem was
made by mistake?
Yes 29% No 55%

Should Netanyahu extend the building freeze in the settlements?
Yes extend 44% No stop the freeze 46%

Should the construction in eastern Jerusalem also be frozen?
Yes 46% No 51%

Who is responsible for the crisis with the USA?
Israel 35% USA 37%

Can Israel exists in security without the support of the USA?
Yes 28% No 68%

Does the Government, in its decisions and behavior, represent you?
Yes 31% No 64%

Does Netanyahu lead the government or do his partners lead him?
He leads 41% He is lead 47%

Who do you prefer in the Government?
Kadima 56% Yisrael Beiteinu and Shas 32%

Should Kadima join the current Government?
Yes 50% No 43%

And if Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu leave, should Kadima join the Government?
Yes 65% No 25%

Who is most appropriate to serve as prime minister?
Netanyahu 41% Livni 33% Barak 11%

Who best performed as prime minister?
Sharon 50% Netanyahu 24% Olmert 10% Barak 5%

Will the current Netanyahu Government attack Iran?
Yes 24% No 65%

Do you know what Dan Merridor's role is?
Yes 8% Thought did but was wrong 18% No 74%

Do you know what Yaalon's role is?
Yes 10% Thought did but wrong 17% No 73%

Do you know what the role is of Begin?
Yes 23% Thought knew but wrong 10% No 67%

Grade for performance in their position:
Livni: Good 49% Bad 44%
Lieberman: Good 36% Bad 59%
Yishai: Good 42% Bad 47%
Steinitz Good 47% Bad 32%
Netanyahu: Good 55%Bad 43%
Herzog: Good 56% Bad 17%
Saar Good 61% Bad 25%
Barak: Good 66% Bad 31%

Can the Government bring about a breakthrough with the Palestinians?
Yes 37% No 59%

Can the Government bring a breakthrough with the Syrians?
Yes 35% No 60%

In Israel today 30 ministers and 9 deputy ministers serve.
