To be emotionally resilient means to be able to spring back emotionally after suffering through difficult and stressful times in one's life.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Emotional resilience refers to one's ability to adapt to stressful situations or crises. More resilient people are able to "roll with the punches" and adapt to adversity without lasting difficulties; less resilient people have a harder time with stress and life changes, both major and minor.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Emotionally resilient individuals have a set of assumptions about themselves and their world that influences their response to stress. Some of the main characteristics are:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;They always tend to:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;li&gt; Understand what they're feeling and why.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;li&gt; Be persistent and determined.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt; Be  responsible and thoughtful rather than impulsive.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;li&gt; Show good judgment and problem-solving skills.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;li&gt; Feel like they are in control of their lives.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Have realistic and attainable expectations&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt; Be effective communicators with good people skills.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;li&gt; See the positives in most situations and believe in their own strength.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;li&gt;learn from their mistakes, see obstacles as challenges, and allow adversity to make them stronger.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;These special beliefs characteristic of resilient people help them to keep proper perspective, and to persist with coping efforts long after less resilient types become demoralized and give up.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;How To Become More Resilient:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Faith :&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Many people feel if they admit to having faith it is admitting to being religious. Faith has nothing to do with religion. We see faith in action everyday of our lives. Through the power of faith you will able to develop  emotional resilience muscle.  Even when challenges seemed insurmountable for you, you still had the optimism to hang in because you believe that by faith you would triumph.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Develop The Right Attitude:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Resilient people tend to view life's difficulties as challenges and respond accordingly with action. Develop positive self-talk and to remind yourself that you are strong and can grow stronger and more wise as you handle life's challenges.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Self-esteem:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This allows you to tackle any obstacle you encounter.
