If you are a new in the world of guitars one of the things you might be asking your self is what type of guitar should I learn on,.

There are several types of guitars and looking for the right one for you can be frustrating, it mostly depends on the type of music you want to play, for example if you want to play rock, blues, metal, reggae or jazz, the electric guitar is the most suitable, the electric guitar's sound varies with manufacturer, because you are an inexperienced guitar player you don't need an expensive guitar just buy a used one and rip it to shreds and after you have more experience then you might want to upgrade your instrument.

If you like flamenco or classical music the Spanish classical guitar is the best choice, it has nylon strings and the sound is excellent most beginners like the classical because its easy on the fingers, but really good classical can be expensive.

For folk or country you can use an acoustic or hollow body guitar.

Now that you have chosen your guitar the next question on your mind might be: how do I learn to play it, there are several methods and all can be effective depending on your learning abilities,

1.- You can download exercises from the Internet that help you with the basics, how to tune your guitar, simple chords and tablature.

2.- You can buy a good guitar lesson book, you can find them in any guitar store like guitar center for example.

3.- If you are really serious you can take some lessons from a good guitar teacher.

learning how to play takes a lot of practice you need to be patient and very soon you will be playing like the pros.
