Quality bootcamps, on the other hand, can work to correct that deficiency.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;For many people, when they hear the words "boot camp, " the thought ofsome Marine Corps base down in Parris Island, South Carolina may popinto their heads. In actuality, a good fitness boot camp is fardifferent from that sort of experience, though it must be said that afew of the instructors at a camp will have a military boot camp drillinstructor background. They are also highly trained fitnessprofessionals, though, and can deliver seriously good quality healtheducation and physical fitness training with ease.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; Generally speaking, any good boot camp will attempt to design and thendeliver a fitness experience that will make a person highly motivatedand desirous of enrollment. Boot camps can be residential in nature --meaning attendees will live on campus while at the camp -- ornon-residential, which means that attendees will show up each day for aspecified period of time. Some are also held strictly on weekends overa set period. All will have the goal of getting people back into shapeand then teaching them how to stay in shape through vigorous exerciseand other fitness tools.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; Keep in mind, though, that it is never the case that boot campinstructors will be anything but positively motivating. Attendeesshouldn't expect that an instructor would be standing over them,red-faced and screaming at the top of his lungs. Rather, exercise --while physical, no doubt -- is conducted in a positive spirit andcompletely structured so that an attendee quickly becomes motivated tomake certain fitness goals delineated for him or her by the campfitness staff.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; Anybody thinking about attending a fitness boot camp should understandthat some sort of certification as to ability to meet minimum physicalstandards to participate at the camp would need to be supplied. In manycases, this consists of a physical exam conducted by the attendee'sphysician. In other cases, however, it is only necessary to certify oncertain forms that one can handle the expected rigors of the camp.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; Also, keep in mind that all good camps are held in a professionalmanner that takes advantage of the skill and training that camp staffbrings to the game. Indeed, many fitness camp staff members -- whetherin Oklahoma City or elsewhere around the country -- have literallyyears of fitness training experience. They can quickly take a personwho comes to the camp very out of shape and turn their attitude aroundthrough time tested and proven fitness training techniques. All arepositive in nature, so one shouldn't worry about negative reinforcementat any camp.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; It's the case that one of the best things about any boot campexperience is that it can be found nowadays in increasing frequenciesall around the country. Should one want to attend a camp in OklahomaCity, there's a good chance that it will be running quite frequently,as will other camps in other parts of the country.
