The Samsung ML 1510 mono printer is a super investment at under US$250.00. Quality is definitely not compromised by the excellent price. Text, photo and graphics printing is absolutely immaculate. Text is clean and crisp no matter how big or small the character sizing. Jagged edges, blemishing and smearing are just non-existing. Shades and contrasts are perfect on the reproductions.

Banding is a possible flaw that can occur with Greyscale, diagram, PDF, mixed and photo printing. The printer cannot be accused of laziness as it's engine can reach speeds of14 pages per minute text, 14 pages per minute mixed and photo printing. Unfortunately, the printer takes between 30 to 60 seconds to warm-up. This can be a little time consuming in a fast paced print environment.

The printer is not fussy at all when it comes to media types and sizes. Media sizes compatible with the printer are Letter, Legal, Folio, Exec, Monarch, C5, DL, A4, A5, B5, 3x5" and types plain, transparencies, labels, envelopes and cards. The printers' input and output capacity is very good with 250 sheets in and 50 sheets out. For inflexible paper types a great folding paper exit is located at the back of the printer.

The printer controls are conveniently limited to only one button for power supply and 2 LED screens indicating different print status, all the other functions are controlled via software installed on the users computer.

Getting started is so simple. Just pop the disc into your pc drive and install the software. Unfortunately, the plug and play function was omitted by the manufacturers.

All major operating systems are compatible with the printer including Apple Macintosh, Windows and Linux. This makes the printer attractive to a very broad user audience. Linux and Apple Macintosh owners will be especially pleased as printer incompatibility is an issue often stumbled on with their choice of operator.

An USB connection is the only connectivity option available on the printer, so if your operator is a little outdated you better pack it away. Cables are not included so remember to order yours well in advance.
