What some see as a slow boring sport, I see as a competition of speed, design, true team work and intellect.

Here in the middle of Middle America, I am supposed to be angry at the football Cardinals. They left St. Louis to call Arizona their home, much like the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn in the middle of the night. Now, if I were a betting man (which I am), my money would be placed on the Steelers only because they have been loyal to Pittsburgh since the beginning.

But my heart will remain loyal to The Yankees (I am a New Yorker after all), the Jets (they trained two miles from my childhood home), the Colorado Rockies, the Denver Broncos and Nuggets (my home for 25-years, 5-months and 22-days, but who's counting) and forever a St. Louis Billikans and University of Northern Colorado Bears fan. And now, I suppose, I need to include the University of Missouri, though I feel a certain twinge in my back when I say "Go Tigers."

So let Sunday be a day of rest and relaxation. Stay away from those parties and the sports bars. You know there will be available tee-times at the golf course, seats at the movies, and quiet in the house.

Oh yes, and more food and beer for me! Go Clydesdales!

TRCB.com
