(Luke 12:3).

I have had the pleasure of knowing people who walk in integrity. In many ways they are the foundation of our society. We have a tendency to glorify people who do not deserve their names ever being repeated. Yet, there are those, usually for some poor and pitiful reason, that are anointed by the media. Contributions to the success of our society has very little to do with those who receive the most inches of print in our newspapers and even less by those we see on the big screen, TV and listen to on radio.

Upon whom then does our society really depend? It depends on the Sunday school teacher who comes to church to meet her class year after year. It depends on the neighbor who is always there to pick up our children or bring us some soup when we are not feeling well. It depends on community leaders who work tirelessly for no pay or recognition to help improve our schools, community services and help build our economy. And it depends on the hundreds of people in uniform who every day, 24/7 perform their duties so that the rest of us can live in safety.

"O Lord, who may abide in Thy tent? Who may dwell on Thy holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;" (Psalm 15:1-3).

Proverbs 10 - Teaches us today?

Proverbs 10:9 "(9) He who walks in integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will be found out."

Psalm 44:9-12 (Theme: The Perplexed Lament of a Defeated Nation). "(9) Yet Thou hast rejected us and brought us to dishonor, And dost not go out with our armies. (10) Thou dost cause us to turn back from the adversary; And those who hate us have taken spoil for themselves. (11) Thou dost give us as sheep to be eaten, And hast scattered us among the nations. (12) Thou dost sell Thy people cheaply, And hast not profited by their sale."

Today's question. Have you prayed for people of integrity?

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men." (Matthew 5:13).

Men and women of integrity are the salt of the earth. They are the teachers and coaches who give of themselves to help our children. They are those who work in non-profit organizations to address problems and issues of those in need. They are the people who come along side of others as they walk through the valleys of their lives. In short, men and women of integrity bring goodness and righteousness to our communities.

Dear God, we pray that more men and women of integrity be raised up to provide salt and light for our communities. Help them to serve well. Amen.

TRCB.com
