The first thing you need to do is pick up the US passport application forms from the post office of download one from an online passport service.<br /> <br /> 2. After completion of a downloaded application, print it on white, matte finished paper 8.5 inches by 11 inches.<br /> <br /> 3. You must prove your United States Citizenship. This is done by submitting an original birth certificate, naturalization certificate, international birth record or certificate of citizenship.<br /> <br /> 4. You must also prove your identity and this can be done with the use of a valid driver's license, a previous, undamaged passport, naturalization certificate, certificate of citizenship or a government or military identification.<br /> <br /> 5. Next, you will need to provide two passport photos and these are taken at your local post office, professional photographic studio or even at several drug stores that are providing photo developing services. You must wear normal daily attire, be sure your eyes are open and wear nothing on your head. The background should be while or off-white and the photo of your neck and head must be centered and free of distorting shadows. Ensure that you have an adequate amount of money in order to pay for your passport and the service fees that go a long with it.
