As to what a body cleanse detox is, understand that it can be a good way back towards optimum health.

To get an idea of why detoxification can help, understand that our bodies are constantly taking in a wide variety of substances, both helpful and not-so-helpful. As levels of these not-so-helpful substances build up and are retained within the body, certain harmful side effects begin to manifest themselves. These can include a feeling of tiredness, low-level headaches, sore and achy muscles and joints, and other symptoms that are hard to pin down, yet result in that vague "not 100%" feeling.

In many cases, all of these signs and symptoms may not even be associated with a specific disease process. However, it just might be that low levels of potentially-toxic substances have built up to the point where the body feels "insulted" by them. This attack starts interfering with the daily processes of life that a body carries on, which is known as homeostasis. When homeostasis is negatively affected, people can have difficulty with daily life processes.

That's why a good detox program should be undertaken by most people, at least on occasion. The first thing that can be done is to start drinking purified, clean water in greater amounts. Water is a great substance that can literally flush from the body of a variety of potential toxins. This is one cleanse factor that is very simple to do; just add an extra glass per day and then add an additional glass each week until about eight glasses are being ingested every day.

Now then, if a detoxification program using just water - whether added gradually or done over a short period of time and for a specific purpose - isn't enough, one always has the choice of a variety of other such programs. These can include changing one's old diet to a new one that's rich in a variety of organically grown foods, including whole grains and vegetables. These so-called "detox diets" can be an effective long-term solution, as well.

But what if a person wants to force a detox to quickly occur? Well, it's most certainly possible and it can be done using a variety of dietary supplements and a strict regimen of detoxification to take place over as little as a weekend or as long as 30 days. These detoxification programs are a bit more involved, but they can be very effective in helping the body expel toxic levels of contaminants and other elements in a relatively short amount of time.

The most effective short-term detox program is one that involves a concerted effort to fast. These fasting detox episodes have to be undertaken with great care, and are usually combined with the drinking of certain liquids. This course can in effect "force" a body into expelling from its tissues a variety of potentially unhealthy substances and even free radicals, which contribute to the oxidization of cells and tissues within the human body.

TRCB.com
