Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34).

I remember, several years ago, my pastor, telling the story of how his children would jump into the pool with him knowing that he would catch them and they would be safe. Indeed, I have had that experience with my own children. They would jump into my arms, and just as quick, get out of the pool and come around to jump again. Over and over, they would jump until I would just get tired and would have to spoil their fun by climbing out of the pool for a rest.

These types of experiences teach us how to trust. As a young boy, I remember going on a long walk with my father at the old home place. These were the woods he played and hunted in when he was growing up. We took turn after turn and went up and down mountains and hills and I remember thinking that I had better stay close to my father because I did not want to get loss. I had no idea how to get back home. We then came upon a big tree, it must have been over 100 years old and on the other side of that tree was a spring of water that came up from out of the ground. We paused, rested and drink some of the best water I have ever tasted from that spring. When I think of the 23rd Psalm, "He leads me beside quiet waters," I think of that spring.
Proverbs 03 - Teaches us today?

Proverbs 03:5-6 "(5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. (6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Psalm 5:4-7 (Theme: A Morning Prayer For Vindication) "(4) For Thou art not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with Thee. (5) The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity. (6) Thou dost destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit. (7) But as for me, by Thine abundant lovingkindness I will enter Thy house, At thy holy temple I will bow in reverence for Thee."

Today's question. Will you jump into the arms of God?

This is the question my pastor asks of us; "Will you jump into the arms of God." He went on to say that "if you do not learn how to trust God, you will find something or someone to place your trust in." There is no evil in our God. There is infinite wisdom, love and power. The foundational truth is, that we need to trust God in all our ways and acknowledge Him. Nothing else suffices.

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou does prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23:1-6).

Dear God, thank you for letting me drink from the springs of your love. Thank you for always being there when I jump from the platforms of life. Amen.

TRCB.com
