Blogging is a phenomenally easy and effective way to begin building a relationship with your potential customers on the Internet.  This may not come as news to you.  In fact, your business may already have a blog either on or associated with your Web site.

The question I have for you is, Are you using the most effective blogging practices to build traffic and trust?

We can always become better at what we do.  That is our job if we are to successfully compete in today's constantly evolving business world.  The simplest way to do this is to learn from the best.

It is also beneficial to go with our gut instinct in blogging.  This seems to be one of its appeals to the readers -- It lets the readers in on the deeper thoughts of what the business owner is all about.

For the writer, it is a challenge to expose your true sentiments to your potential customers and business partners, without defenses.  It is a tight-rope act without a safety net.  It sharpens your sense of who you are and what you have to offer.  And I think this is part of the appeal for your readers -- they get to find out who you really are.

In this big world full of people we could do business with, blogging is a way to find the clients and customers who resonate with our deepest values.  For the customer, it is a way to find the business owner who shares their values and perhaps even a cause that is important to them.

Without a blog to reveal this deeper Unique Selling Proposition, yours is just another business on the 'Net.  One of millions to choose from, with competitors avidly nipping at your heels.

What Sets Your Business Apart from the Crowd?

With an effective blog, you establish yourself and therefore, your business, as the One that person wants to do business with.  You probably will drive away others who are not a good match at that deeper level, but that may save you trouble in the long run.

We have all heard that people do business with those who they know, like, and trust.  Your blog is just a great way to "let your hair down" and openly expose your human dimension.  Business is not just about who has the lowest price or the "best" product -- It is about interacting with those whom we enjoy, as people.

Your blog is a way to put a human face on your Web presence.

At this point, I'm just a student of blogging.  I must be doing something right because my Web traffic has doubled since I began offering my thoughts on subjects only loosely connected to my main keywords and focus.

This taste of success only makes me want to learn more about the secrets that make blogging effective in building a business!  It is a never-ending quest to learn from the best and express what I've learned in my own unique style.
