In times of sadness, we feel miserable and depression over takes us.  We feel as if we are hopeless and that anything we do, tend to disappoint others.  We feel unwanted by others and want to feel pain and disappear in the world.  Sometimes things are not as easy as they seem.  We have dreams and goals, yet sometimes reality tells us something else.  What can we do?  How can we get out of this feeling?  Is the world better off without me?

Often I see promising students end up as failures.  They were never straight A students when they could have had that potential.  They ended up failing, dropping out and giving up in their dreams.  They were left out of scholarships because they did not have the certain GPA requirements.  In an education system that demands the best out of students, some students could not make it and feel like dropping out.    Professors have great impact in lives of students.  Often, the best of the best are admired while the bottom 10% are looked down upon.  The athletic with the best statistic is praised while the athletic with the worst statistic is often not given a second chance.

Some of us sometimes give up trying because of being rejected.  Some of us are voted good citizens yet never make the honor list.  Failures in school should not block people from achieving their dreams.  Even failures can make it to respected institutions like Harvard when they never give up in their dreams.

Society sometimes tells us that we have to achieve a certain grade, be of a certain disadvantaged background, or a certain inspiring story to be a success story.  It is often an assumption that those with the worst grades are not intelligent enough.  Most times those with the worst grades are intelligent, but are often fearful of society's rejection of them.  But those students should not give up because they are assets to our society and make this world a better place.  Some failures become U.S. Senators, go on to law school and even can make it in to Harvard.

We are not quiet because we do not like to talk, we are quiet because what we have to say is often rejected by society.  Rejection turns in to pain and sadness.  Sadness can lead to suicide or anger.  Confidence is built through high self-esteem.  When you are told you are hot, it will have a positive impact in yourself esteem.  But when you are the geek, and get picked on, your perspective will be different from the confident man that always says to have confidence.  The woman or man of your dreams may reject you, but there is even a more beautiful person that loves you for you.

Those who truly love you will always accept you for who you are.  Never be discouraged by the actions of others and especially bullies, those who live lavishly or are the people of the crowd who get all the attention.  They may have the attention of the people, but your heart is special and you are different from the rest.  Most of those people on TV are entertainers, not philanthropists or prophets of our time.  You are the hidden treasure of our world.  The majority who do reject you are not special.  Only a few can be special.  The rest are just a crowd sitting for others to lead them.  It is the quiet ones that make the big impact.  Never believe in the concept of others not believing in you or your dreams.  Because, I believe in you, I believe in those that may have little hope, because I know that someone like you has a strong heart that makes you want to reach for hope.  Remember, you will always be loved.
