Windows Media Player is a piece of software that comes standard with all Windows computers. Its basic purpose is to allow you to watch movies that are on a Disc or that you have downloaded onto your computer. It does not have any of the bells and whistles of some of the other programs, but it is free, easy to use, and definitely gets the job done. But, it also has a feature that some people don't know about.

DVD, also known as Digital Versatile Disc or Digital Video Disc, is an optical disc storage media format, generally used for video and data storage. Physically DVDs are of the same dimensions as compact discs (CDs), but has a much larger storage capacity.

Though DVD/CDs as a data storage media are more reliable than floppy and Flash disks, they are also prone to errors. Errors reading the DVD/CD can be due to problems with DVD/CD or the computer DVD/CD-ROM drive
