If college and university studies were once for the privileged, that's no longer the case. Many young adults who attended colleges and universities or graduated from them in 2008 were considered low-income, an Institute for Higher Education Policy report noted. The Institute is now exploring how student debt, academic goals and other factors might play into the fact that even many college and university students who earned their degrees didn't rise from poverty.
