Most people would be surprised to learn the history of nursing. According to the Wiki, the profession earned its name back in the 15th Century, when there were both wet nurses and dry nurses. It was based on the concept that a practitioner was a nurturer, aiding and abetting people, from babies to the infirmed, that helped the occupation become what it is today.
