An HP LaserJet 4000 Printer is a business printer. A good business

through the network printing set up. It is a monochrome laser printer

ppm with a default resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. The gray scale has 220
levels delivering a picture grade print quality. The resolution can be
increased to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. This does make the printer produce

due to the HP precision toner. The toner cartridge will yield 10,000
pages. It is capable of large volume printing at 65,000 pages per month.
This printer holds a total of 600 sheets of paper. The internal print
tray holds 500 sheets, an entire ream. This make loading it quite
convenient. The feeder tray will hold an additional 100 pages. If it is
loaded with envelopes it will hold 75 of them.
There are two optional
trays available. There is one for duplex printing and another standard
print tray. These will hold another 500 sheets. This is ideal when there
is a lot of printing as it holds a total of 1,100 sheets. The tray that
holds output will handle 250 sheets. This tray is equipped with a
sensor for when it becomes full. This way a print job is not delayed.
The rear of the printer has an output tray as well. This tray will
handle 50 sheets. This means printing multiple documents of different
sizes is no trouble. The printer will chose the appropriate tray for
what is being printed repeatedly. It is able to handle paper from 16 to
53 lbs and of varying size. It will print paper that is just 3 inches x 5
inches and as large as 8.5 inches x 14 inches.
A 100 MHz processor is standard which will provide adequate speed. The
internal memory is 4 MB of RAM. This is able to be expanded to 100 MB.
There are three DIMM slots that hold 4, 8, 16 and 32 MB memory chips. An
increase in the RAM means faster network printing and can eliminate
print delays. There are two EIO slots available for the network
connections.
The Windows and Mac operating systems both work with this printer. Flash
memory can also be used with the printer. It is used for fonts, forms
and signatures. There are two slots for the flash memory. They hold
either 2 MB or 4 MB. Serial and parallel ports are available, as well as
a 10/100 Ethernet interface.
This printer is a space saver. It is 15.4 inches in width, 13.3 inches
in height and 16.77 inches in length. A desk top or any central
available space is all that is necessary. The weight is a light 39.27
pounds. Once one of the additional paper trays is added the height
changes to 18 inches.
The HP LaserJet 4000 printer is just right for the small business that
