A lot of businesses or offices are using multi-function printers in order to conserve money and precious space. Bond paper, plain paper, transparencies, labels and envelopes are the supported media types. When it comes to media sizes, there are a variety of compatible ones. Both the ADF and the paper tray can handle executive, legal, letter, B5, A5 and A4 sizes. Custom sizes ranging from as large as 8.5 x 14 inches to as small as 2.75 x 4.75 inches may be used on the ADF each time.

A starter toner kit comes bundled with this MFP when you purchase it. It's capable of yielding as much as 1500 printouts. Also, there's an included drum unit which can approximately yield 12000 pages. So that the machine can work in top form and the cost per page can be maintained low, using genuine Brother toner and drum unit is recommended.

It's capable of making monochrome copies. The automatic document feeder may be used for copying a maximum of 30 pages, or the paten, which can support up to an A4 size document. It's fast enough to produce 20 copies per minute. The document may be reduced or enlarged anywhere from 50 to 200 percent. There are useful functions around such as sorting, 2-in-1 copying and 4-in-1 copying. Also, it can work minus a computer.

The scanner part of the machine uses a 200 x 400 dots per inch optical resolution. It's possible to export scanned documents to BMP, JPEG, PDF, TIFF and MAX. You may also directly scan to an image, file, OCR or attach to an email. The iPrint&Scan application may be downloaded online free of charge. This allows you to scan to a compatible smartphone or directly print files found in it. File formats supported are JPEG and PDF.

It includes a Super G3 fax modem for speedy data transmission at 33.6 Kbps. The machine uses a corded telephone handset and there are a total of 210 auto dial locations. Features such as fax forwarding, automatic redial, out-of-paper reception and up to 600-page fax memory allow you to send and receive fax via this MFP hassle-free system.

There's a monochrome LCD that's back-lit which makes the 7225N cartridge easy to operate with cartridge and toner. The body of this machine tips the scale at a little over 16 pounds and uses Brother MFC cartridge. It measures 14.7 inches (width) x 14.7 inches (depth) x 10.3 inches (height). For hooking it up to a computer or a workgroup, interfaces available are parallel, hi-speed USB and Ethernet.
