When considering the HP Color LaserJet
CP3505x printer it will quickly become obvious that one is looking at a
printer intended for a variety of business needs that also comes with
decent print speed and very nice durability.
It's also fairly easy to
use, can print product out in black and white or color with the HP
Color LaserJet CP3505x toner and can run off of several different
operating systems. It's also an improved member of the 3500 series of
HP printers.
As far as print speed, Hewlett-Packard has built this particular
printer with the ability to kick out both color and black-and-white
product at around 22 pages per minute in what the company refers to as
"best quality mode." Speed can be increased slightly by selecting a
lower-quality print mode, which is a useful option to have on occasion.
From the time a print job is tasked and sent to the printer until the
time the first sheet of product emerges is only about 12 1/2 seconds.
This speedy output ability should help to keep down the usually
inevitable congregation around the printer while waiting for a print
job to be prioritized and then produced. This can't help but be a good
tool to improve the productivity of employees.
When it comes to durability, Hewlett-Packard has again produced a very
nice machine that comes to its users with a 65,000 page per month duty
cycle. As far as what "duty cycle" means, it's simply the maximum pages
that a printer can image and then kick out within a single month.
Actual output is recommended to be between 1,500 and 5,000 pages per
month, however.
Print quality with this HP model is very nice, and the product that
emerges will look clean and clear at 1,200 x 600 dpi (dots per inch).
This quality comes in both color and black-and-white product, by the
way. Remember; a laser jet printer will require four different print
cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). This is nothing new for
any laser jet printer.
As far as this HP model and its ability to store paper, the three
standard paper trays can handle up to 850 sheets spread out between
them. It also has the ability to automatically print on two sides,
which is known as duplex, and it can handle a number of different media
products such as envelopes, bond paper and labels. Custom media sizes
are handled through an included multipurpose tray, as well.
The LaserJet CP 3505x comes supplied with 324 MB of RAM. This can be
increased all the way up to 1,024 MB of RAM, meaning that the printer
should be able to handle fairly easily most any amount of print
taskings sent to it from the network. It will all be prioritized and
then produced by means of a 450 MHz processor, which is able to shuffle
everything around and then put it out without theatrics.
Even a casual look at the HP Color LaserJet CP3505x printer will reveal
a very nice laser jet printer intended for use in the business or with
a large networked work group of users. It's not a cheap printer,
though, so expect to pay between $1,500 and $3,000 for it new. The low
price can be found at present from a number of different online
retailers. For a machine of such versatility, this is an excellent
price, it must be said.
