The Hollywood Tower Hotel is the home to "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror." It is located at the end of Sunset Boulevard. This ride will take you through the dark and scary hallways of an abandoned old hotel and give you the ride of your life.

Ride Experience:
As you enter the hotel you are walking through the lobby of the old dusty Hollywood Tower Hotel. You are then directed into the library. Through the window you will see a thunderstorm, then lightning strikes and the television turns on showing a short film hosted by the creator of the Twilight Zone television series, Rod Serling. After this story, you are escorted to the hotel's boiler room where you will find the entrance to the service elevators.

The doors open and you enter the old run down elevators. Once the doors close you will hear, "You are the passengers on a most uncommon elevator about to ascend directly into your very own episode of The Twilight Zone." The elevator doors open and you are in a hotel corridor occupied by ghostly creatures. When the door closes again you will hear, "One stormy night long ago, five people stepped through the door of an elevator and into a nightmare. That door is opening once again, and this time, it's opening for you."

You then enter the part of the ride called the "Fifth Dimension." Once through this section the doors close again and you hear, "You are about to discover what lies beyond the fifth dimension, beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination, in the Tower of Terror." The elevator will then enter a pitch black elevator shaft and you will be unexpectedly launched upward.

All of a sudden you will hear the cables breaking and you will see the electrical sparks falling down around you, right before you plummet back down the shaft. This is repeated several times. At one point, the doors to the elevator shaft open and you can see clear across the park from about 13 stories up, before they abruptly close and you plummet again. When the ride ends you will exit into a dark hallway of the hotel, and then out through the gift shop.

What Disney Says:
"Brave the creepy facade of a once-glorious hotel for a jolt back in time. Board a phantom elevator, shoot up 13 stories and brace yourself for a thrilling plummet... but beware! The experience just got scarier. You rocket back up, only to plummet down yet again. You dare to ride once more, but wait! That's not what happened before. That's right, now the Tower is in control, so it's never the same fear twice!"

Notes, Tips and/or Facts:
To accurately capture the mood of the classic television series, Walt Disney Imagineers screened each of the 156 episodes of "The Twilight ZoneTM" at least twice.

Authors Comments:
For the thrill seekers, this ride is definitely the ride for you. It is scary, creepy, exciting, and absolutely the best ride at Hollywood Studios! Due to the upgrades that Disney has made recently, you will never have the same ride experience twice.
