Disney Hollywood Studios: Backlot Sounds Dangerous - Starring Drew Carey
Sounds Dangerous is an audio show in the Disney's Hollywood Studios starring Drew Carey. The movie takes place inside an actual ABC soundstage with theater seating. Guests wear advanced headsets and watch a movie of Drew Carey as a security guard although, through ‘camera malfunction' the majority of the film is in the dark. While in the darkness the patrons are treated to stereophonic experiences via their headsets as a means of demonstrating how movie sounds are done.
Ride Experience:
What disappointed me the most was the actual presentation. Most of us have worn headphones at this time and experienced how sounds can ‘appear' to travel from one area to another. I thought the movie had some cute jokes but was very mediocre over all.
What Disney Says:
"Ready to go undercover with a television detective? Watch what happens when Drew Carey takes to the small screen as a gumshoe who bungles his first on-camera case. Plunge into darkness when the camera blacks out and hear the hair-raising results when the caper gets captured in crystal clear 3-D sound."

Be sure to explore the hands-on activities at Sound Works?accessible as you exit the soundstage.
Drew Carey's first starring television movie role was as the title character in "Geppetto," a presentation of ABC's "The Wonderful World of Disney." (2000)
Authors Comments:
I was not all that pleased with this presentation. I heard several other guests say the darkness was disconcerting and frightening. (Avoid if you have children afraid of the dark)
