Disney Hollywood Studios: Backlot Star Wars Jedi Training Academy

Jedi Training Academy is a live stage show currently being staged near the Ultimate Star Wars Thrill Ride. This interactive attraction is based on the teachings and practices of the fictional Jedi Knights from the Star Wars films. Each show is different and depends heavily on audience participation and focuses on children between the ages of four and 12.

Ride Experience:
In this fun filled event your young Padawans learn proper ways to handle a lightsaber. Each Padawan will be assigned to a Jedi Master who will teach them the history and ways of a Jedi, the mysteries and power of the force, Jedi bravery, and a trust in one's self as a growing Padawan.
The show will begin with a Jedi Masters performing a kata.

Upon completion the Jedi Master will ask the crowd "Who wants to be a Jedi?" Your Padawans should raise their hands and jump up and down. If your Padawan is selected they will be provided a training lightsaber and a Jedi Robe.
During the training session the Jedi Master and Jedi Knights will train the Padawans on basic force tactics and combinations of lightsaber attacks.

Once the training is complete the show really goes into effect. Stormtroopers race onto the stage and yell "Alright, nobody move!" At that point the stage rumbles and starts to rise. Once the stage is at its full height the sculpture rises to reveal Darth Vader. Now Darth Vader sees the Padawans, and approaching the group, he offers to teach the Padawans the ways of the Dark Side.

Who else but Darth Maul himself then enters the stage and performs his kata. He struts around the stage glaring at the audience. Ah, the fight begins between Darth Vader, Darth Maul and the stormtroopers against the good guys. Guess who gets chased off the stage?

The show ends when the villains are gone and the Padawans have given back the training lightsabers and taken off their robes. An Official Disney Jedi Diploma is then passed out to each participating Padawan. I suggest you take it home, have it framed and hang it on the wall.

If you are interested in your Padawan participating in this awesome adventure and you want to take pictures or videos, you must arrive early to get a good location in front of the stage. Taking pictures of your selected Padawan is not an easy task when you are back in the crowd.
