Disney World Magic Kingdom - Stroller Smarts

You can rent strollers by the day. Disney offers both single and double strollers. The Disney strollers have hard bottoms, which do not work well for a small baby. If you plan to rent a stroller, bring a blanket for the bottom so you can lay your baby down comfortably.

Disney is again offering length of stay stroller rentals for a discount rate off their normal per day rate if you sign up for at least 2 days. If you want to rent only certain of your days, for example 6 of 10 days, they will give you a coupon book with 6 coupons for use any day of your trip. Strollers are on a first come, first serve basis. You do not need to be a Disney resort guest.

A stroller is so handy not only for child belongings but also water, baby snacks, purses, clothing, and purchases. Children can get very tired in the warm afternoons, so even your 4 or 5 year old may be ready for a nap in the stroller. We bring our own stroller as it can be folded up; the rented Disney strollers do not fold so cannot go on the Magic Kingdom train. (Lots of people like to use the train to get around inside the park).

You can also buy a lightweight stroller at a discount store once you get there. If you don't want to take it home with you, donate it to the "Give Kids the World" Village in Kissimmee. They'll pick it up. Phone (407) 396-1114.
Disney doesn't let you bring strollers inside the attractions (buildings/rides) or in the waiting lines. There are stroller parking areas. I have never heard of a stroller being stolen, but I would not leave anything of value in it. You might attach a luggage tag to it in case someone accidentally takes it away - they tend to look alike.

We used a front baby carrier when our boys were infants. This saved our backs and arms while waiting in lines. (Note that there are baby care centers in the park for changing, feeding, and nursing facilities).

I had a stroller stolen outside a restaurant at Epcot. It was a cheap umbrella stroller, so the only real loss was the convenience, but I wanted you to know it happens. No similar stroller was left, so it was not a mistake, and it never turned up at lost and found, so it wasn't moved by a cast member.

I had a stroller stolen from outside the castle of the Magic Kingdom while my daughter and I ate breakfast with the princesses. Like the other comment, no other stroller was left that remotely resembled ours, and our was never turned in to lost and found, so it most definitely was not a case of someone grabbing the wrong stroller. The cast members looked for it for an hour and called security, but of course, that was pointless.
This totally ruined our day and a lot of our stay. My daughter cried uncontrollably (she was 3), and Disney gave us free stroller rental for the remainder of our stay, but that didn't help us with the long walks to and from the buses, especially at the end of a long, hot day. They never offered to replace the stroller. I just wanted everyone to know, this absolutely DOES happen. How these people explain taking a stroller that doesn't belong to them to their kids is beyond me. My advice would be to put a very noticable unremovable name tag on your stroller AND use a bike lock when you go. Obviously, never leave valuables unattended in the stroller.
