Set sail with the famous pirate Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew. As you board the Black Pearl, be aware that untold riches and dangers lay just ahead. Be sure to dodge the cannon fight between Captain Barbossa's ships and the stone fort at Port Royal. You never know which character will come out and where the cannon balls will fall next! Listen to the Audio Animatronics' characters as they squawk their phrases and sing the songs from the Disney movies.

Hear Barbossa yell "and a fortune in gold." Around the bend Barbossa's men dunk the mayor in the town's well trying to find out where Captain Jack Sparrow has hidden the treasure. Try to spot Captain Jack hiding somewhere close by.

Due to the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl movie and its sequels several scenes have been updated by popular demand to include the characters Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa, and Davy Jones. You will also find the audio of the characters has been updated to be politically correct. A lot, but not all, of the gruesome language has also been updated. Sound has been updated to include BOSE® speakers and woofers so you can really hear what they are singing and understand most of the words.

Ride Experience:
On the walk through the lines you get a feeling you are going to come out at the waterfront. Well guess what, you do. You will board an open, slow moving craft and head directly into the face of the ghostly octopus face Davy Jones, the ruler of the ocean deep. As you pass directly under the waterfall (getting a little wet) you are transported into the past directly into the middle of a battle between Barbossa's crew and Fort Royal. Watch for the following:
Singing Otters, Plastered Pigs, Wily Wenches, a Scraggly Dog, Pirates, Crabs

Ride Scenes:
Harbor Attack:
Bridal Auction:
Chasing Scene:
Burning Town:
Treasure Room:

Notes, Tips and/or Facts:
The Pirates of the Caribbean was the last attraction that was personally supervised by Walt Disney.
Pirates of the Caribbean was originally envisioned as a walk-through attraction until Walt Disney saw the possibilities presented by the boats in Disney's "it's a small world" attraction at the 1964 New York World's Fair.

Author's Comments:
This attraction is my personal favorite at the Magic Kingdom Park and the movie is a favorite, too. The way the ride has been re-themed to fit the Pirates movie series better has really made it suitable for people of all ages and an overall better experience. You really get the feeling that you're a real pirate and a member of Captain Jack Sparrow's crew.
